Today let me honor Allyson Felix, an American sprinter who won her 12th gold, one more than Bolt’s 11, when she and her team placed first in the mixed-gender 4x400m relay. This came after she lost her contract with Nike when she got pregnant with her daughter whom she gave birth to in 2018. This is not to say women can do it all or have it all. It is to simply say, let the women who are bad ass like this into the arena into the door and watch them flourish. She now has her own shoe brand too so that she can work and earn on her own terms.
