#1 Travel diary…

Travel therapy is so real. And now I know that’s mine. In my language we have a saying that when a child doesn’t move, they say their mother is the best cook. Of course an innate feeling of undying loyalty to a good mother would call us to cling to the belief that out mother remains the best cook. It must be in the training of our taste buds that we feel inclined to what we know because it was our first; we’re constantly drown to our familiar spots.

A tiny spirit soothing sanctuary.

I love unfamiliar and so travel is euphoric to my spirit. This, however, feels like a familiar place because it’s like my mind often times wanders to places like this. Maybe it’s because of all the internet pictures, books, movies that give us a sense of places beyond our sight….. And maybe it’s because my dearest friend is here and so it’s like we’re just on another one of our experiences. Familiar people make any place seem familiar. It’s different than when you’re meeting strangers in a strange place.

Trevor Noah says of his mother that she said, “If he never leaves the ghetto, he’ll still know ghetto is not the world.” This is the purpose of exposure. It’s the reason I recognize the blessing in what God has done for me, the ability to experience the world. It humbles me because I am cognisant of my limitations and yet I get this gift. I’m visiting the places I daydream about and it’s more beautiful in reality than it is in my day dreams. In any case I hope this becomes my maiden journey on a lifetime of adventures around the world beyond my familiar place[…] and boy would my happiness be complete !

I’m one to feel so many emotions really strongly but it may not manifest in the elated outward expressions. This is why I’ll be using this platform to just write down my thoughts and feelings during this time. Then I’ll process them better, share and keep memories.

Showers of blessings.
