A part of how we cope with our trauma is by building walls. We build walls of mistrust such that we are always on the defence. We shield ourselves from love in the long run. We unfortunately also are building a fence to keep out every thing good that comes with people while we are trying to keep out the bad.
Sometimes though, the only way to get past this space is to Lower our posts because as long as we are holding them up in a guard position, we fail to see some things. We therefore have to unlearn certain things much as they have defended us and kept us safe in the past; and re-learn.
The good thing is if you have lived on such guard, you’re antennas for detecting bullshit are always up, when someone is full up you can detect and so “the whispers”, the intuition, gets even stronger. You can trust that you are not ignoring your gut feelings but rather that you have been equiped to handle yourself and situations in the open.
Today I am reminded myself that I need to trust more, open up more, see people in their positive light and above all, take and accept love.
