Life can move so fast; sometimes at my busiest, I don’t remember on Friday what happened on Monday. There have been too many microevents.
It’s better to take a pause. Stop and look around before you miss life as it is unfolding. The world as it is today seems to have different settings in this regard; everything is fast, instant gratification, instant delivery, and different technological innovations becoming obsolete in record time as new discoveries and inventions are created.
Even when all these scenes seem to form a whirlwind, overwhelming your senses, find time to centre your thoughts, to ensure you’re anchored and find the space to pause, to reflect, press on or redirect. Find the space also to appreciate and acknowledge the people and things that matter.
Do people still take silent walks in the park or at the beach, stroll through the village, watch sunsets, watch the moon with kinsmen/ family, hold long conversations with an insightful friend about life, sit down for dinner with a loved one (with no phones) and talk about your day, walk home as you watch and assimilate the rhythm of a village or city, sitting in the silent presence of God,…
Whichever way you can afford or choose to, find something healthy and legal (lol) that quiets the noise, slows, or halts the pace before you miss life while trying to live it or chase it.
Cheers ! Showers of blessings.
